Arsenal going down the traps..

Not so long ago it was Arsenal that was battling for the title along with Chelsea and Manchester untied.  Last  year was a different story being surpassed by Manchester city in the league was a sign of things to come. Coming fourth denied Arsenal qualifying directly into the champions league but if this was not bad enough they completed another season throphyless. The players and the fans demanded that Arsne Wenger splash the cash this summer. The first player to leave was Cluichy to Manchester city followed by the annual hunt for Fabregas by Barcelona but this year was different they where successful Arsenal lost the captain and best player for a price that could rise to €35 million far shy of what he was worth a year ago closer to €50 million. At the same time winger Nasri refused to sign a new contract and looks set on a move to the city of Manchester stadium. Eboue has moved on too to Turkish club Galatasaray and striker Bentener is wanted by several clubs while Newcastle has made a £12 million bid for the Danish striker.

Gervinho and Oxlade chamberlain look as the only two major signings made by Arsne this summer the latter not expected to enter the first team straight away even at a cost of £12 million. With only a week left in the transfer window and after loosing out on many targets such as Valencia winger Juan Mata and Bolton defender Gary Cahill not looking likely it's hard to imagen what Arsne Wenger will do. With key players leaving and Arsne unwilling to spend big on established players makes it look as if even a 6th place finish is optimistic. With the money Manchester city and Liverpool have spent and with Tottenham still looking good it's not looking well for Arsne and Arsenal.
